Russia, Georgia and South Ossetia discuss situation on border

Officials of Georgia, South Ossetia and Russia have met in Ergneti. It is the 48th meeting within the framework of the mechanism for prevention of incidents and reaction to them. Gocha Ratiani, the head of the department for information and analysis of the Georgian Interior Ministry, said that the sides will discuss incidents that had happened since the previous meeting on July 31, News Georgia reports.Georgia will discuss pupils in the area, it will protest against illegal barbed wire along the border, water problems.

South Ossetia to close Georgian border for Republic Day

 South Ossetia will close the Georgian border on September 20 to mark the Republic Day. Border-crossing will be halted at 8.00pm tomorrow, Res reports.The border will open again at 9.00am on September 21.
